The film in which she appeared performed the role of a young girl who was married to a middle age man (the role Shah Rukh Khan is playing). The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. Anushka starred with Shahid Kapoor Meiyang Chang and Vir Das in the movie Badmash Company. The film received mixed reviews. Anushka was also seen alongside Ranveer in the film "Band Baaja Baaraat,' where she portrayed a Punjabi middle class girl who set up her own company. The film received excellent reviews and was deemed an overnight success. Anushka has completed her 3-film contract in partnership with Yash Raj Films after Band Baaja Baaraat.
